Tree Condition Surveys

Tree surveys and consultancy services that are perfect for homebuyers:

Under the Occupiers Liability Act 1984 you have a duty of care to ensure your trees are safe. Ignorance is not an excuse in law! Statute law does not require the tree owner to maintain completely safe trees, and it is certainly not practical or possible to inspect each tree on a daily basis. The duty only requires the tree owner and those responsible for them “to take reasonable care”.

A landowner has legal obligations and a duty of care to all those who may be affected by trees under their management. If you’re unsure which obligations these are, they are laid out in the Occupiers Liability Act (1984) and the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974).

Whatever the size of your site or the number of trees, we’re the tree risk management company to offer you the guidance and tree safety advice you need.

Below are the varieties of tree asset surveys that we offer:

Hazard/Walkover or Preliminary Tree Survey (Level 1)

For people looking for a cost-effective way to survey a high volume of trees for potential hazards, this may be the perfect solution.
These surveys are a great way to identify any trees that may pose a risk to people or property. The report will also ensure you have enough guidance and information to be able to successfully instruct a contractor who will be able to tackle the work that is needed.

For people who are restricted by budgets or are in a situation where the tree risk needs to be identified quickly (due to after extreme weather for example), then a walkover/hazard survey can be the ideal option.

Basic Tree Survey (Level 2)

The second level of tree survey involves a thorough visual inspection around 360 degrees of all significant trees and results in an inventory of all arboricultural assets on a site. It is ideal for population level planning for tree resource management.

Advanced Tree Assessment (Level 3):

Certain trees may require a more advanced assessment and this may involve climbing the tree to assess suspect unions or cavities, more scientific testing of the trees structural integrity (Sonic tomography) or even wider analysis of soil and plant material to look for chemical imbalances or poisoning.
